Curriculum
A Northern Ireland Boarding school provides the academic excellence of a traditional Grammar School with progressive preparation for life in the modern world.
All courses follow the British National Curriculum and lead to G.C.S.E. and A-level examinations – the main mode of entry to universities in the United Kingdom.
Emphasis is divided between the sciences, technology and the humanities. There is a strong emphasis upon Information Technology and Computer Science.
A broad range of supplementary studies is also provided and opportunities abound for the development of social and cultural interests, particularly in the areas of Art, Music and Drama. In addition the excellent sports facilities allow and encourage participation in many different games and recreational activities
Academic Results
Each year the statistics show that pupils in Northern Ireland schools significantly out-perform their contemporaries in examinations. This is shown in the comparison in the chart oppisite: -
All of the boarding schools have a specifically high record of success and 80 to 90 per cent of leavers proceed to degree courses at universities throughout the British Isles and beyond.
Fees
Northern Ireland Boarding schools provide excellent value for money. Total fees, including tuition, boarding and main incidentals, are approximately 50% lower than those for Independent Schools in mainland Britain.
In addition all United Kingdom or E.C. nationals are exempt from tuition fees,thus reducing potential outlay to an extremely competitive figure.
